A beautiful old pub full of surprises!
In part dating from around 1400 this ancient coaching inn oozes history and traditional pub charm. In recent years it's been lovingly refurbished and improved by villager owners careful not to lose the spirit of one of the best pubs in the area. The refurbishment has added a modern garden bar, a function area in the barns and garden lounge which is a covered dining area complete with firepit. This area gives the ambience of al fresco dining with warmth for the colder months.

We can cater for everything from a quick and impromptu drink or meal to a well-planned party, wake or celebration for much larger numbers of people. Please call us or call in if you'd like more details.

Our opening hours are 9.30am-10pm on Sunday and 9.30am-11pm Monday to Saturday. Last drink orders are 20 minutes before we close, and last entry is an hour before we close. Breakfast is served from 9.30am to 11.30am, daily and after mid-day we serve food from our bar & restaurant menus all day.

We also have a wide range of takeaway items, pastries, sandwiches made to order and drinks to go.
​
With regular live entertainment, a huge selection of food & drink, large garden & terrace, function and party areas and open fires for cosy indoor and outdoor dining, we've got everything you'll need!
FABULOUS FOOD & REFRESHMENT
​Our freshly cooked food is sourced locally and freshly cooked on our premises wherever possible.

We're not into fast food, just fresh food as quickly as we can. We've got an amazingly skilled kitchen team of 10, including 5 chefs, led by our talented Head Chef, Dwight Barras, to ensure that we can serve brilliant food all day, every day.

We serve food from 9.30am until 8pm Sun-Tue and until 9pm Wed-Sat. Reservation is advised but not essential.

We serve BREAKFAST from 9.30am TO 11.30am Daily with everything from the full English to Bacon Rolls via Eggs Royale.

From Mid-day to last sitting at 8pm Sunday to Tuesday, and from Mid-day to 9pm Wednesday to Saturday, we serve our fabulous MAIN MENU.

With over 40 choices, pub classics, restaurant dishes, a STEAKHOUSE section, indulgent DESSERTS, we truly got something for everyone. Not forgetting of course, our famous SUNDAY ROASTS available every Sunday with three meats, veggie option and warm meat sandwiches.

The budget stretcher, our fabulous dishes in great value 2 or 3 course packages PLUS our BRAND NEW SMALL PLATES section, with dishes for those on a budget or with a limited appetite at just £11, all available all day every day, except for Sundays when the roasts need extra space in our kitchen!

Options are highlighted throughout our menus, and we have dedicated menus for Dairy Free and Gluten Free diets also available on request, the above are samples.

DRINKS
For refreshment, we have a huge selection of beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks, plus a large 'Cafe Selection' which includes all the common choices plus treats like Matcha & Bubble Teas. We've also added real fruit splashes in a variety of flavours to adjust any soft or alcoholic drink to suit your mood, and extended our cocktail list with some new inventions such as our Watermelon & Basil Mohito.
Our wine list has over 50 great value wines to choose from just £23 a bottle, including 12 fabulous English ones. We've got 15 wines available by the glass, plus two sparkling - a rose and a white Prosecco, both from Adnams here in Suffolk, and great value for a lovely fizz at £28 a bottle or £4.95 for a 125ml flute. Perfect for any celebration or just any day at all!
We have well over 50 beers & ciders, including 15 draught and loads more bottles. Regular draught beers include Peroni, Asahi, Estrella, Estrella 0.0, Levelhead, Greene King IPA and Guinness plus a wide variety of guest beers including Neck Oil, Clwb Tropica, Sierra Nevada and Camden Pale Ales, Lervig Tasty Juice and many more. We've also go two ciders on tap, Aspalls and Henry Weston's Vintage, Guinness and a few other surprises! With bottles from Duvel, Paulaner, Jupiler and Delirium amonst many others, we're bound to have something to appeal to your taste buds.

Please note that last entry is an hour before we close, therefore we may close one hour before the advertised closing time if we have no customers in the building.
